Brought new C300 sports mercedes Benz

Yesterday evening (08/27/2007) I brought the brand new 2008 Mercedes Benz C300 sports sedan from Smythe European Benz Dealer. I was waiting for this model since few months as this is a brand new third-generation C-class body style which replaces the existing second-generation C230, C280 and C320 models.I just brought the base model (Steel Gray Metallic with Black interior) with the following options:
I also wanted a ipod integration kit, which might be installed in later stage as Mercedes is still working on the support. The only package that was missing is the multimedia packagewith navigation and 450 watt harman/kardon 12 speakers. But to get this package, I have to wait for another 2-months. |
I was tossing between Lexus 2007 IS250 and this model since couple months as IS250 has extra features like nice sound system, touch based navigation, backup camera, ventilated leather seats for almost 2K less than the C300. But anyway finally opted for Mercedes over Lexus.

If you could have gotten those extra features in the Lexus IS250 for less money than the Mercedes-Benz C300, I’m wondering why you eventually bought the C300 instead of the IS250? Could you explain why?

I have a C300 6-speed. Not only will it run circles around the IS250, the ladies prefer the Benz. Good choice.

The car could use more power off the line, but 7.5 seconds to 60 mph (4MATIC) isnt really that bad.
I own one, and the car has tremendous power on the highway, floor it and hold the auto shifter over to the left, the car will select the appropriate gear and take off like a rocket, all the way up to 134 mp, I had a 2004 Mustang GT in front of me and he could not lose me on the highway. I also took out other cars on the highway. Mercedes manula states to hold the gear selector lever (7 speed automatic) over to the left then floor it for optimal acceleration , not off the line but once rolling to overtake, such as passing on highways, two lane roads , etc. Car was not meant to be a Corvette or an M5, if you want that, get an AMG badge and your acel. worries are over. I have kept up with a new 5 series off the line , (he was slightly ahead, but not embarassingly so, ) I also have taken an older BMW 3 series coupe 1995 to 1998, off the line. a 6 cylinder model.
The car is what it is, not meant to be a sports car, is a luxury touring car, corners better than any I have driven, I have taken off ramps at 70 to 90 mph, and will not enbaras you in aceleration if you know how to laubch and drive it.
