Phillips 42″ LCD
Sony Home Theater System, HT-DDW700
As a entertainment geek, since few days I am shopping for a decent home theater system for my new 42″ Phillips LCD TV (spec: philips store) and nothing was interesting to me. Currently am using my 4-years old Altec Lansing ADA890. Actually this old sound was really good with my old Sony trinitron TV. But doesn’t look like its really compatible with new LCD/Plasma TVS. So thought of getting a new home theater system within $250.

So, finally after testing few, I brought Sony Home theater system, HT-DDW700 from Best Buy. Actually the listing price in store is $199.99 and the same unit is costing $179.99 in circuit city. As I had 12% bestbuy rewards zone coupon thought of buying from best buy only. Finally I got the unit for about ~$175.

The installation was straight forward as everything was directed in how to setup doc that I got from the product due to one connection that I did from my TV to receiver using digital co-axial cable. The sound was decent and good enough. I tried to test with couple of DVDs that I regularly watch; and the sound is really appealing. At least its worth the price. Now, I have to see whether to go for this or to go for Bose Wireless Surround Link SL2 as this is wireless and is of course Bose. I need to decide this by tomorrow before I wall mount my TV in the new condo as I decided to keep all my new speakers hanging over the walls
