The whole world had an eye to see the “Monad” (also known as MSH, is the replacement for the simple command shell in the current versions of Windows) in Windows Vista aka Longhorn.
Microsoft initially planned to include Monad in Vista. However, Microsoft dropped to include in Vista due to a security threat.
But, according to Stephen Toulouse from Microsoft Security Response Center Blog!, Slashdot article incorrect about this virus threat. Also, he wrote in another blog that, “Monad” is not included in the beta release of Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2003 R2, nor they have any plans to include in the final version of Windows Vista and there is no relation between
Monad and Windows Vista Beta 1; But considered for the Windows Operating System platform for the next three to five years.
