For the first time since its introduction, Firefox has lost ground in its attempt to woo users from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, according to NetApplications.

May 2005 Browser/Market Share:

Microsoft IE – 87.23%
FireFox – 8.06%
Netscape – 1.64%
Safari – 1.91%
Mozilla – 0.58%
Opera – 0.51%
Other – 0.07%

As Internet Explorer 7 is also released under BETA, which offers the improved security and tabbed browsing feature that Firefox has, one can predict Internet Exploer 7 will sweep the surfing market in the coming days. You can view the screen shots of IE7 on Longhorn from here
